"No Life Till Vinyl!"

No really, I can quit any time that I want!!

I'm a walking paradox. Both sour and sweet, I tread the line between extremes. I have officially completely and totally fallen in love with the sound of vinyl records, and believe I can actually hear my other hobbies (comics, videogames) swirling down the drain as I type this.

If there are any altruistic vinyl Jedi out there willing to take on the tutelage of a young (well maybe not) padawan and train her in the ways of the Groove, IM now, or forever hold your peace. May the Groove be with you.

God... I am such a geek!

Last night, as I was ready to sit down and relax to some good music, I decided to do a sound test of sorts. Alphabetically, the B-52's are the first artist in my record collection, and their 1983 effort, "WHAMMY!", is the earliest of their LP's in my collection (and a gold stamped promo copy at to boot).

The first time is always the best.

So, I've finally got my wicked new turntable, and Audio-Technica AT-PL120, and it's pretty smokin! After assembling and calibrating it last night (balancing the tone arm was a new experience for me but I passed with flying colors) I decided to give it a test spin. So I pulled out one of the few discs in my collection that I hadn't actually played before, the soundtrack to the 1965 musical "When The Boys Meet The Girls".

I went ahead and gave the vinyl a good wet clean and made a mental note tha… Continue

Crystal, Guess what I get to do. The people that put in our new hardwood floor copped to the fact that they screwed up and are giving us a different new floor. that means I have to take down the Stereo system, and repack up all the Lp's by 10-28, Only took them 1 1/2 weeks to decide.I'm happy except for all the workI have to do.I guess you could say ARRRRAGH!!!
