Billborad on line has a report that a new Bruce Springsteen hits package is to be sold only at Walmart to tie in with the Boss 's Super Bowl halftime gig.The package will be in Walmart stores 1-13-09. First the Eagles , than AC/ DC, now the Boss. Does this trend piss you off? It Does me

Walmart's tendency to buy goods from China and/or insist that suppliers cut cost which forces the manufacturers to go to China is a big contributor to the loss of those working class jobs. Hasn't Bruce always tried to portray himself as fighting for the working class/union type of guy? Giving Walmart an exclusive smacks of hypocrisy.

Walmart also will not deal with any company that uses manufacturers reps and not direct factory sales. They want to dictate terms and sales and they no not like tp buy " made in USA".20 plus years ago Bruce refused to let Chrysler use" Born in the USA" to help launch the "K Cars" after their first US Taxpayer bailout. Boy how times change.

In a interview in the Sunday New York Times Bruce Springsteen said that "He dropped the ball" in regard to the Walmart CD deal. Looks like a lot of us called him out on it. He now admits it was a mistake

By the way, the K-Car was introduced in September 1980 and the "Born in the USA" album wasn't released until June 1984 (the title single followed the album's release by five months), so the song could not have been tapped "to help launch" the Dodge Aries and Plymouth Reliant. And Chrysler paid back the federally-backed loan guarrantees (not "taxpayer bailout") in 1983, still a year before Springsteen's album was released.

I'm brain dead . What I should have said was Bruce refused to Regan use Born In The USA for his reelection. Sorry, and Chrysler did pay the loan back. I'm just pissed off at both Chrysler and GM. Vince did you ever see the movie "Who Killed The Electric Car'?What GM did to stop the California Clean Car program was criminal and they got away with it.

I also saw Bob Dylan and Will I. Am sold out to Pepsi in another commercial. Hell, I'd sell out if I had anything to sell. Standing for principles these days has lost some of its glory. And we've all got bills to pay and kids to raise. Yes, Walmart does a lot of bad things that many of us disagree with. Give them some feedback. Unfortunately, in this bad economy, I can't afford not to shop there sometimes. I only wish I had something to sell in their stores.

I Hope that you don't because they will own you in the wost way possible.

Getting WAY off topic, yes. I followed the GM electric car drama from day one (my other life is in the automotive arena). GM was made out to the much worse than they were. Sure, they brought out a reasonable (I enjoyed driving it) car but it would have cost them millions to support them as the batteries began to expire. They were glorified prototypes and many companies have done similar things to other prototypes given to the public over the years. I wish more of them had been given to museums and the like. Also, I'd love to have one personally.
